Vermont - Tiny Home TreeHouse!
Happy Anniversary to Us!
A not so surprise get-away for our anniversary! Can you believe that we have now been married for 44 years? Well, we can’t! We tell everyone that we were married at age 12 - l0l. I planned an early anniversary trip for us while we were in Vermont. We left the RV behind in the capable hands of Bri and TJ and hit the road to discover a bit more of Vermont. I really did plan too much to be accomplished in just 3 short days and 2 nights. And, of course, a hurricane decided to hit the East Coast during that time and the remnants of said hurricane made its way into Vermont for a VERY wet weekend. As you know, we don’t let much discourage us and we made the best of it. We accomplished a hike to Hamilton Falls before the rain started falling and prior to our first overnight stop at a quintessential Vermont Inn called the Jackson House Inn in Woodstock, VT. It was absolutely gorgeous! The innkeepers were fantastic, the grounds were amazing and the food was delicious. I would go back in a heartbeat.
The second day of our trip was spent exploring small towns and driving in the rain. We did visit a horse farm, Ben & Jerry’s Ice Cream and experienced amazing sights along the way. We did not get out and walk much because we are so sweet we might have melted in all the rain - lol!
Our second evening was spent in a fantastic TreeHouse in Braintree, VT, called the TreeHut. It was such a sweet little place out in the deep dark forest. It was all off-grid, powered by solar and a small generator. We enjoyed the outside shower and hope to use the fun fire-pit on a return visit when it isn’t quite so rainy. We absolutely loved this place. It was so different from our first night stay but just as enchanting - just in a different way.
On our last morning we hope you enjoy a fun little Q&A session that I put Norm through. He really needs to learn how to play this game a little better. We had lots of laughs and enjoyed sharing some of our time with you. After leaving the Treehut we enjoyed driving through small, quaint Vermont towns, eating in out of the way cafe’s, visiting the Vermont Store and so much more. We could spend weeks upon weeks in Vermont and not see it all! We returned to the Kampfires Campground where Bri and TJ took excellent care of our RV, Dream Weaver.
We would love to visit Vermont again during the fall to see the splendid fall colors. Again, we will return!
We absolutely love getting out there and meeting new people. We encourage all of our Mountain Beaches friends to shop small, shop local and to always be on the lookout to give a helping hand to those in need!
